I discover my asteroids through use. I read the myths or the stories and I try to apply them to everyday life. What good is an esoteric tome from which one cannot extract practical wisdom? As such, I would describe the Madhatter Asteroid  as follows..

A person may have grown up in a home in which nothing made sense. Reality was skewed to the point that the person may have shut down. Emotional or mental illness may have ensued. With this asteroid, I think persecution of the native ensued, as well. I think the person was framed and blamed for things he did not do. I think he was persecuted but INNOCENT of any charges against him.

I practically fell off my chair when I checked this one out. I was helping a precious girl on Linda-Goodman.com. She was dealing with some emotional issues and I was helping her with her asteroids to try to find out why. She had Madhatter conjunct her Sun. I researched Madhatter and wrote an article on it. She said that her childhood was indeed like the story of the Madhatter.

I was talking to some LL friends about this and one put up the Asteroid numbers for all the Wonderland characters. She said that Alice was the sane one in a world gone mad. That got me thinking that that was my life. I have a strong logical and rational chart. I have a Gemini stellium in the 9th House with a Cancer Moon conjunct the MC.

For those people who do not understand what this means, it is that I was gifted with detachment, logic, reason and objectivity. I grew up in a home that made no sense, just like Alice’s world. Nothing was as it seemed. I was like an oasis in desert of trouble and angst. In time, I became numb, as happens with continued trauma.

However, I am writing this article because I checked the Alice asteroid in my chart and she is conjunct my Mercury , exact. This one aspect is the story of my life, as surely as anything in my chart. Discovering this make me fall more in love with Astrology and the Creator of our charts, God, who has a plan for each of us.

I write about what I know. I don’t write about it until I have a feel for it, both in doing chart and in my own chart, usually.I started having a special interest in Nessus from a Nessus/Deja relationship. Nessus is the abuser and Dejanira is the victim. If any relationship has a fatal attraction feel, it is a Nessus/Deja relationship. If one sees a political figure or other public figure give up all for a seemingly inconsequential relationship, I bet it would be a Nessus/Deja one.  It seems that there is one to a lifetime. Maybe, that is all one can take. Maybe, one learns. At any rate, if a relationship is two magnets which must touch, it is this.

I have my theories on why it is so powerful. I think it mixes love with abuse. To those of us who were abused, they are inextricably  mixed. This is the passion and this is the undoing. One finds home and home turns out to the the same home that one left.

At any rate, that was a preview to the subject of this article which is Nessus conjunct the Sun in synastry. This can happen in all manner of relationships from lovers to children to friends. I have seen the same thing happen over and over. This made me write the article. The Nessus person will feel an uncontrollable urge to abuse the planet person. By planet person, I include angles such as the ASC, IC, DSC and MC. By planets, I include all planets but more specifically the personal planets–the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars. Lesser so, I would include Saturn and Jupiter.

The Nessus person may abuse the planet person in an ambient way or an overt manner. It doesn’t matter as much as does the URGE to abuse. That is the subject of this article. I want to give you a heads up when you see Nessus conjunct one of your personal planets or when your Nessus does the same to another.

I have had my eye on Jupiter, particularly with asteroids. I wanted to know if Jupiter acted like a fairy godmother and mitigated the harsh asteroids or if it accentuated them. I studied Jupiter in the charts for a long time before I came to my conclusion. Jupiter will make a bad asteroid worse. Jupiter will make a good asteroid better.

What do I mean? If Jupiter is conjunct Nessus, the person will have a stronger Nessus. Nessus is the asteroid of the abuser. Hence, we will have a nuclear powered abuser. Does this sound bad? I suppose it does. However, if you live in a fairy tale world, you are mentally ill, so what are we going to do 

Going on with this  theme, if you have Deprez, the asteroid of depression, conjunct Jupiter, you will have more of a tendency to be depressed. If you have Dejanira conjunct Jupiter, you will have a stronger tendency to be a victim. If you have Sedna conjunct Jupiter, your betrayal by men will be taken up several notches. If you have Medusa conjunct Jupiter,  your betrayal by woman and resultant hatred of men will be amplified.

On the other hand, if Jupiter conjuncts a beneficent asteroid,  your positive qualities will have a shooting star quality. Jupiter conjunct Venus is pure, outpouring love. I can feel this in people and love the feeling. Any of the love asteroids conjunct Jupiter amp up the person’s personal love vibe. This is glorious

I discovered that someone in my life has Sado conjunct the Moon. This person has been sadistic. I was surprised but not surprised, if you know what I mean.I was relieved. One doubts oneself when one deals with a sadistic person.

The sadistic person is a master of Gaslighting.  Gaslighting is the deliberate attempt to convince someone that they cannot trust their own reality. I have been getting more self esteem the more I see the wonderful asteroids conjunct my Sun. I check my own asteroids after I do it for other people, usually. On Linda-Goodman. com, there was a thread on Moira in the Asteroid Forum. Moira is supposed to show one’s fate. With these kinds of asteroids, it can be for good or bad. It depends what it  conjuncts.

When looking at Moira, one should look at the conjunct  planet. With the Sun, one may have a fated journey with one’s identity, sense of self and basic thrust in the world. With the Moon, one may be fated in one’s emotions such as being a therapist or a poet.  With Mars, one may have a fate related to one’s goals such as having the ambition to  reach a hard won goal. With Venus, one may have a fate related to love such as finding one’s true soul mate.. With Mercury, one may have a fated situation using one’s mind or using one’s communications skills such as being a writer or speaker.

If we see Moira on one of the angles, one may be fated to do something in one’s  daily walk through life(ASC) or in one’s career(MC) . One may be fated in marriage if Moira conjuncts the DSC. One may have fated things happen in childhood if Moira is conjunct the IC.

Lastly, we would look at houses to see the sphere of life in which Moira would play out. I found Moira very interesting because I have her in exact conjunction  with Moira to my Sun in the 9th house. I do feel I was fated to do what I am doing which is Astrology and writing(9th House subjects) I do this with my Sun(identity) Hence, Moira fit perfectly with me.

I was fortunate to study to be an acupuncturist. I did not take the test for a  license  but took the course of study.  I have been treated  with acupuncture, too. Hence, I have a feel for the energy body. It is fascinating. We all have one, of course. It is very real. People can undergo surgery with just acupuncture needles. Hence, we are not talking about airy-fairy here.  I say all of this to say that the aura is the outward manifestation of the energy body.

The Asteroid Kaali is the energy body, itself. Kaali has a very distinct manifestation in the natal chart. I have found this through doing charts. I think I am the only one saying this but I am not sure. Kaali is the energy body, as I said. We are each energy, at the core. Hence, our energy body is a highly important part of each of us. If Kaali is too close to the surface, vital energy seems to leak out. The person cannot help it. These people feel very drained from being with others. A simple party or event may drain them for days.

Kaali conjunt the ASC would probably be the hardest. However, there are other places where one could have a similar “energy leakage” These would be the MC, DSC and North Node.  One”s energy body is best when it is not a conjunct a personal point in the chart. The more exterior the personal point, the worse. However, in this case, the Moon is not good, either.

In synastry, if one’s Kaali conjuncts the personal planet or angle of another person, the Kaali person will have an energy leak into the other person. I am sure you have experienced times when you feel your energy rushing out  into another person and leaving you tired and drained. Go to the charts and check the Kaali. We could add the subject of Energy vampires, here. I am sure that Kaali is a factor.

Aura is the outer manifestation of Kaali. I do not think that one’s aura leaks energy. It is simply the outward placement of the energy. It is quite easy to see auras. I can do it. Each aura has a different color. Some are spiky and some are soft. It is an interesting area of study.  If you stare into a mirror at the top of your head and relax,  you can probably see your own aura. Sit on a comfortable chair and really try to relax your focus. You may need to sit there for some time or practice on several occasions. The last time I did it, mine was bright green. It was an amazing experience. If you do it, write to me and tell me!

The Aura Asteroid will show us what the native communicates to the world, unconsciously. If Dejanira is conjunct Aura, the native will have a sense of being a victim. It is not the person’s fault, of course. If Apollo is conjunct Aura, the person will be put on a pedestal by others. Apollo gives a sense that the native is very special and should be honored and revered. If Nessus is conjunct Aura, the person may have the feeling of an abuser. One knows the feeling when one meets a person and “knows” that the person is an abuser.  If Eros is conjunct Kaali, the person would have erotic vibes. If Sedna is conjunct Aura, one would have the vibe that one has been betrayed. If you want me to write a whole list of these,  I will. The more successful I am, the more flak I get. I used to be diminished by it. I used to be heart broken. Now, I wonder if it is because I am doing something wonderful that some people want to pull me down. At any rate, that is not the subject of this article. The subject of this article is how asteroids can change your life. More specifically, how finding the right asteroid can explain your life. Then, you can come home, in a manner of speaking.

I experienced this myself, recently, so it became more personal. I do charts on Linda-Goodman.com where I am proud to be a Moderator and have been for five years. In doing the chart of a person who had been diagnosed with  severe mental and emotional issues, I found the treasure trove which is Alice in Wonderland Asteroids. She had Madhatter conjunct her Sun. I studied the story of Alice in Wonderland.True to my instinct about this girl, she was normal and her environment was crazy. To put it in a common psych word, her environment was crazy making. The Madhatter was  told he was crazy but he was not. His environment was crazy. Here was the parallel. Here was the nugget of truth that could be life changing for her.

This brings me to one of my favorite books, People of the Lie by Scott Peck. I read this book at age fourteen. It was a beacon for me in my darkest and most troubled days. It told me that truth would heal me. That is why I am  fanatical about truth. That is why I try to be so honest. There is precious little truth  in this politically correct world. Those who have the courage to bring it offer  a special healing. I strive for this. At any rate, Peck talks about how a person has his reality altered by a crazy making home life. That person will be identified as “the crazy one” while the rest of the family can appear normal.

I had the feeling that this girl was a product of this. When I saw Madhatter conjunct her Sun, it was confirmed to me. She told me that I helped her more than her therapist. That was a lovely compliment to me and made my day. However, I got a personal gift in the whole thing.  I had a feeling that the story of Alice was my story. When I checked the Alice asteroid in my chart, it was an exact conjunction to Mercury. With asteroids, one wants to go for exact conjunctions. Some Astrologers only accept exact conjunctions. Others allow a small orb. However, all agree that exact conjunctions have the nuclear power. Exact conjunctions will show us our story and our purpose.

My life was the life of Alice. I was sane with my plethora of Gemini planets in the ninth house. I was sane with my extroverted chart. I was sane with my Gemini Mercury conjunct the Sun but not combust. When I look at my chart, it looks like God did all He could to make me sane. However, I grew up in an insane environment. Just like Alice, my reality was skewed to the point that I could have become insane just as Alice’s reality.

For me, the passion for Astrology is really the passion for God. It is the passion to know that there is order in the Universe. It is the passion to know that I am not a mistake even though I have made many, many mistakes. It is the passion to know that what I went through was known to a present God. Studying Astrology is a small price to pay for that assurance.

Many mothers come to me with the charts of their children. The child may have the hardest aspect which is Dejanira conjunct the Moon, in my opinion. The parent may even bring a Nessus asteroid to the child’s Ascendent. This would show that the mother is very likely to abuse the child. These mothers are very upset and rightfully so. I have not known what to tell them until now when some ideas hit me, as I woke up today.

I will give some personal experiences. I learned about Chiron conj the North Node from a relationship. I was the North Node person. The man was the Chiron. When one first meets, one does not see the pain that is about to come. One does not see the abuse that is about to come. One is in love. When one is in love, one sees with one’s heart. The chart is a function of one’s mind. It is a rational black and white blueprint of what is to come.

In this relationship, it felt familiar. Chiron relationships are nothing else if not feeling  familiar. Nessus relationships are the same way. In the Chiron relationship, you feel as if you found your true soul mate. The reason being that you share pain. One may bring the yin and one may bring the yang but they fit. That is the point. They fit. You have found a home of sorts. The problem is that it is probably your childhood home, repeating. A famous poet said that there is no present and no future, just the past, endlessly repeating. He must have been talking about Chiron relationships.

At any rate, the North Node seems to have a different mechanism for playing out than other aspects. One does not see it until one is well into a relationship. If one is married, one may see it when one is safely ensconced in the marriage, with children and obligations. Hence, when one wakes up to Chiron conj the North Node, it may be too late. In this case, the relationship will have a pain theme. Anything that conjuncts the North Node will be a Theme asteroid. This can be wonderful if you have Juno( devotion and loyalty), Lilith( raw sexuality), Eros( the erotic)Venus( pure love), the Moon( heart), Jupiter( positive feelings and joy)the Child Asteroid( child like love and affection) of Amor( love). I have an article on planets and asteroids conjunct the North Node. I list many there. However, the North Node does not seem to be visible until you are well into a relationship and specifically marriage. There is something very different about marriage than living together. Once that piece of paper is signed, one’s issue seem to flow out like Pandora’s sins. Hence, you may be in a pickle.If one would have a synastry chart done before the marriage, one may not get married. I would not get married with a bad planet or asteroid conjunt the North Node. I would not think I could change it. I simply would not get married.

There are many synastry aspects from which I would run. If I did not run, per se. I would never marry. I will leave synastry for now and go on to the natal charts. In the case of a mother/child synastry, it is not a choice, as is marriage. One loves one’s child, for better or worse. There is no running in this case.  I think the chart will play out, to a degree. However, the mother can lessen the impact with foreknowledge. I don’t think the impact can be extinguished, however. I think if a child has Dejanira conjunct the Moon, there will be severe abuse. If a parent did not do it, then a teacher or a priest may. A mother cannot control all outcomes for her child. However, awareness has to count for something and the chart can bring awareness.

The hardest situation is probably a parent/child with a hard synastry. If one knows Astrology, one can see the chart play our before one’s eyes and one is somewhat helpless to change it. I think the hope is in the word “somewhat”. If one has been given the gift of Astrology, one was given it with a purpose. The purpose is to understand one’s life. Hence, one has the best possible tool for making a bad situation lessen. I wish that for all the parents who have hard charts with their children.

Let’s talk about one’s natal chart before we leave the subject. I don’t think the chart can be changed by natural means. I think only God can change the chart. God is in the realm of the spirit. The chart is in the realm of the material. The spiritual is the father and creator of the material and so can trump the material. My caveat( which you probably know by now) is that I believe the only true power is found in Jesus and God, not any other spiritual discipline or any other religion. I have seen lives changed by Jesus. These have been true, deep down,soul changes. I have not seen that with anything else. I have seen superficial changes only. The heart remains the same.

Some of us are kissed by the gods for pure sexiness. The person may not be classically attractive but will vibe sexual charisma. This is dedicated to one of my favorite readers  and whom I consider a friend, Living Mystery who has Lilith conjunct the ASC. I ask for pictures of  certain Asteroids conjunct the ASC, so I can get a sense of them. I have asked for pictures of Eros conjunct the ASC and Lilith.

These seem to   confer an easy, effortless sexual vibe to the native. For some natives, they do not want the attention they engender. However, many are pleased with this placement. It is a gift from the gods because the native is naturally gorgeous and charismatic. Who in his right mind does not want that?

These asteroids work the same way in males and females. I find Lilith to be more playful than Eros, which is more sultry. At any rate, both of these asteroids confer the natives with a “je ne sais quoi” that is felt as a delicious and scrumptious vibe.

The Moon/Sado person molested the Neptune person and is lying about it.

I am an earth void. I think this is the easiest one. I do have a hard time figuring out the practical matters in life. I don’t care or notice if I am using a broken pan with no handle or if any dishes match. I have some dishes from a set I got 25 years ago. They are mixed with some I got at Wal Mart and others I ordered at Amazon. It is a hodge podge that would make Martha Stewart cringe.I don’t notice if the tag is still on the new sofa years later

I think the void MUST bask in the element. Since I have been spending hours in my garden every day, I feel much more centered. I feel stronger and more confident. The void person must find a way to add that element from outside. I am writing this article because I found this to be the case, so strongly.

To me, the hardest void, by far, is the water void. They seem to be missing a piece of what it means to be human. I am going to get a lot of flak for saying this but I have to call them as I see them. We, humans, communicate through the heart, which is the emotions. It is the language of humans as is one’s regional language the language of it’s people. Hence, the water void stands apart from others, to some degree.They live in a world of their own with it’s own language which does not quite fit with that of others.

Of course, a water void is not an alien. I am not saying that but I think there is some essential piece missing which may be called soul or may be called heart. If it is not missing, it is different.  I am reluctant to write this because of many water void people for whom I care. However, I do have to call them as I see them for my own integrity, as well as to teach. Many people will not call things as they are for fear of offending one group or another. Hence, nothing is ever really learned. That is a crime to me. My 9th house stellium of 4 personal planets compels me teach in a way I feel is true and authentic.

The water void has some lacking of empathy. The subject of empathy is speaking to me lately. I have a family member with little empathy. Empathy is the true language of the soul. Animals have it. Humans have it. The water void has some aberration in it. I think I can say that and leave it at that. If you encounter a person who seems like he does not quite “get it”, he may be a water void. The “getting it” may be jokes or subtle messages. They do not seem to deal with shades of meaning well. Shades of meaning are emotionally based. Hence, the water void may miss what we call subtext. Subtext is what exists under the surface. Most communication happens under the surface. Hence, a water void may appear clueless at things that others take for granted.

The Fire Void is a hard Void. This Voids tends to get depressed. Fire is joy. Fire is confidence. Fire is get up and go. This void has none of these. Hence, it must generate an energy that others take for granted. It must generate the energy which is the passion for life.

The Air Void is a hard void, too. It is too sensitive to slights. It takes things too personally. It cannot detach well. Air is detachment. Air is logic and reason. Air can pull back and assess a situation. The Air Void is lacking in this. Hence, he may feel attacked all the time. He  may feel under assault. He may feel impinged upon by others, simply because he has no space within himself with which to pull back.

This is not an exhaustive study of the voids. However, when one does charts, one needs to check for voids in order to really understand the native. I hope I have called attention to that.

People google this topic so I will give my take on it. There are some people to whom we would not mate if he was the last man on earth and the species would become extinct. Lets talk about what repulses us in a person. I have to start with Moons, as they are one’s deepest heart. I do not think Moon square Moon can sustain a long term relationship. If it does, it is lacking. It is sad. It is missing a piece.

Moon oppose Moon is fine in a platonic relationship. In fact, I think it is excellent in a platonic relationship because each person brings an opposite perspective. This is wonderful with friends. However, if one takes this to lovers, there will be an essential piece missing, in my opinion. When one partner cries, the other will not know how to comfort him. There is a lack of simpatico due to the opposite Moons. One may give perspective but one will not give true heart. The true heart resonates on a different spectrum. It is opposite. It is not understood by the duo. Hence, there is angst. Hence, there is sadness and loneliness.  I don’t think a wonderful relationship can exist with Moon square or Moon oppose Moon. Can a relationship endure? Of course. Will it fill your heart. To me, the answer is NO.

Sexuality is from the neck down. Attraction may be fleeting but if there is no soul, it becomes empty. It becomes vapid. It becomes sad. Hence, if one has an attraction and nothing else, one will be left with a sense of angst as if one has eaten a big meal but found it was cardboard.

Any relationship is based on soul. Without soul, there is no music. There is no beat. There is no anything but the sacharrine music that plays on elevators.
